A Handcarved Mustache {PP205}

Hey there, friends!  As you read this, I am headed back from Salt Lake City and SU's Annual North American Convention.  Of course, I am writing it early and scheduling my post so it seems a little odd to say but....I HAD A GREAT TIME!  (I am certain that I did!).  Sandy is our fabulous hostess at The Paper Players this week where she has a fun Clean-and-Simple Challenge:
Oh this card was so much fun to make....
 I guess I might have subconsciously taken inspiration for the layout from the challenge badge but most of all I wanted to feature the Handcarved background stamp!  I thought it would be fun to cut it out like a piece of fabric.  I just followed the lines of the stamp to make the zig-zag edges and cut between rows to make it more narrow.  The image itself isn't straight--it's supposed to look "handcarved" so my cut lines aren't straight either.  I think that gives it a casual and whimsical look that coordinates with my trio of 'staches!
 The think Baker's Twine is so easy to unravel and after tying a knot, I unravel the ends fluffing them out a bit--they almost look a little like a mustache, don't they?

I am certain that the rest of the Design Team has some wonderful inspiration for you--do go check out all the creativity on display at The Paper Players.  We hope you'll play along with us before the challenge closes on Friday, July 25th at Noon (PST).

You are right, the twine does resemble the mustaches. That background was a great idea, just perfect for this card. It all goes together so well!

I just sort of glossed over this background stamp in the catalog, but I love how you highlighted it here, especially with your trio of 'staches! Great masculine creation! Hope you made it home safe & sound!
